This was actually a pretty fun, medium-sized 5K. I think the final participation count of the timed runners was 403. The course was relatively flat with just a few long, low-grade hills. It was the first morning too that I could really tell it's getting close to fall. I battled back and forth whether or not I would wear my long-sleeve shirt. I ended up wearing it and got a little warm but prefer that over freezing to death waiting at the starting line.
There were also a few alumni Vikings players there signing autographs. Originally I thought I would bypass this line until I realized I could have them sign my medal ribbon so that was kinda cool.
All in all I was happy with my finish and felt fairly strong throughout. I think I can safely say that I am back to enjoying racing and not obsessing over time.
