We stayed on Rush Street and were just a few blocks of Michigan Ave which is more widely known as the Magnificent Mile. The shoppers were thick this weekend as we are right in the heart of Christmas shopping season. The Magnificent Mile has just about every store you can think of including a few all areas. There are a lot of high end stores included too like Neiman Marcus, Rolex and Sax Fifth Avenue. Personally my favorites included Ghirardelli and Herseys.
And if you are looking to save time walking around, you can catch a free trolley that runs a loop from Michigan Avenue to the Navy Pier.
And if you love breakfast and are NOT calorie conscious....order your own breakfast bagel sandwich from E’leaven just off Michigan Ave on Ontario Street. It was a breakfast place by our Hotel and while the sandwiches were really good, the bagels are twice the size that I am used to and we ended up each putting half a sandwich in a to-go container.
Have you visited downtown Chicago? What was your favorite restaurant or store?
