We made a big leap in our current situation. And I can't begin to tell you how much I waffled on if it was the right/smart thing to do. Should I wait? Maybe in a few months? Sigh..... This is the mental battle I've seen from numerous other digital nomads about this same situation and something that I knew I would have to battle in my own mind at some point. Even now that it's done...I'm very happy but still worry....was it the right thing to do right now?
So our house was originally built in 1926. In the 1950's, the back wall was pushed out and a new kitchen was added. In the late 90's (some idiot) added the second story as part of a quick flip. I add the "idiot" part because we've found nothing but short-cuts and crappy construction with everything that has to do with that round of updates. But starting last year, we have been putting a lot of sweat and money into getting this place to be up to code and hopefully a desirable rental property.
