You know how every digital nomads story starts with some sort of "leap?" Well here's mine! Before I actually went full time working for myself/ourselves, I can't begin to tell you how much I waffled on if it was the right/smart thing to do. Should I wait? Maybe just a few more months of saving would be better? Sigh..... This is the mental battle I've seen from numerous other digital nomads about this same situation and something that I knew I would have to battle in my own mind at some point. Even now that it's done...I'm very happy but still worry because my success lies soley with me. (Oh man....do I trust me?)
The week is finally here! Every year we have a decent amount of things that we want to get rid of and either host our own garage sale or bring it all to my parent's house when they have theirs. This year we have enough stuff for multiple garage sales! Even before we started the #75Things75Days Project.
This is a genuine question that I have been pondering and researching for the past few months now. If you are looking for the ultimate answer to this question...well...this blog post won't necessarily have one but I figured it was worth spending time discussing this topic with myself and any of you out there that have had successes and/or failures in finding ways to work while traveling as a digital nomad.
This weekend was the first of what I'm going to guess will be many sessions of going through our house and deciding what stays and what goes. The goal was to get rid of around 50% or more of our apparel and box it up for this summer's big garage sale. We had almost the whole weekend to tackle this project and felt pretty good that we were in the right mindset to get rid of things that were no longer needed or used/worn. We were strong and ready to de-clutter!
But we quickly found that it's not easy. At all. Actually sometimes it's kinda painful. And we have only gotten through the clothes in our closets and still have to tackle the rest of the house!?!
Well taking the first step was easy at least. 1) Go to the moving store and buy LOTS of these......
